What is FALP?

00:00 / 01:41

The Foundational Adult Learning Portal (FALP) is an access point for online assessments and online learning resources.  It is for Albertan adult (18+) learners, practitioners, instructors, tutors and all advocates of learning.

Vision: We believe that learning should be easy to access for everyone, no matter where they live or how busy life gets.  FALP is here to give adults in Alberta a simple way to assess their skills and learn online - build skills anytime, anywhere.

Mission: Our mission is to support adult learners in Alberta by offering easy-to-use online tools.  This includes assessments to see where a learners strengths are and where they might want to improve.  It also includes learning resources for learners to build skills in four core areas:

  • Skills for Learning

  • Reading and Writing (Literacy Skills)

  • Math (Numeracy Skills)

  • Digital Skills

Goals:

  • To provide a welcoming, safe, and easy-to-use online space where adult learners from all backgrounds feel supported.

  • To offer online assessments and learning opportunities that help learners find their strengths and work on the skills they want to build.

  • To give learners the chance to improve important life skills—whether for daily life, further learning, or improving employment opportunities—FALP aims to help learners become more confident and independent!

Serving: Canadian Born, Canadian Citizens, Permanent Residents, Inuit, Metis and First Nations Peoples, Temporary Foreign Workers and Visiting Visas.
